It tends to endorse Republican values as all somehow Biblical. I think that all began in the 1970’s battle against abortion. What has emerged is the view that only Republicans have Biblical principles. But Republicans tend to diminish the importance of EFFECTIVELY caring for the poor, abolishing racism and loving the immigrant. Democrats tend to diminish the importance of sanctity of life from conception to death, almost any level of sexual morality, and now the freedom of thought and speech. If Jesus came in the flesh today, I think He would call out both parties for its departure from God’s Word. I think the moderate/liberal church and the conservative church would be found wanting.
