The evangelical condemnation of Catholics is certainly problematic. Most don’t understand the differences and similarities nearly enough. Too often they just heard an ill-informed pastor say something negative, even hateful, and they just echoed it. Thankfully, some are becoming better informed and learning to look more at the similarities rather than the differences. But too few. Further, evangelicals have the troublesome tendency to consider their theological idiosyncrasies as needed for salvation.
